Scott Wiercinski
Academy Director / Head Men's Soccer Coach - Bowdoin College
Scott Wiercinski was named head coach of the Bowdoin men's soccer team in March of 2013.
Since arriving to Bowdoin, the Polar Bears have secured consistent success. The 2014 and 2015 seasons marked the program’s first and second NESCAC Championships, becoming one of three programs to win back-to-back NESCAC titles. Additionally, the team reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament after securing first round victories. In 2017, the Polar Bears reached the NESCAC semi-finals after defeating Williams in the quarterfinals, becoming only NESCAC team to reach the semi-final round of the conference tournament in 5 straight seasons. During 2022, Wiercinski led the Polar Bears to a record of 13-2-5, a first place finish in the NESCAC regular season, and an Elite 8 appearance in the NCAA National Championship tournament
A native of Brunswick and graduate of Brunswick High School, Wiercinski returned to Maine after seven years as head coach at the University of Chicago. His resume also includes assistant coaching jobs at Brown and Bowdoin. He is a 1999 graduate of Middlebury.
Banadda
Assistant Director of NESA / Asssistant Coach Men's Soccer - Bowdoin College
A 2010 graduate of Middlebury College, Banadda joins Scott Wiercinski's coaching staff following ten years of coaching in the middle Atlantic. A native of Gaithersburg, Md., Banadda enjoyed a stellar career at Middlebury, where he helped the Panthers win the 2007 national championship by earning All-Tournament honors. He returned to his home region, where he has coached in numerous capacities, including as the Developmental Phase Director at Potomac Soccer Club, Assistant Director of the Soccer Program at Arrington Training & Development, and as an assistant coach for the Washington Adventist University men's soccer team.
Banadda owns a U.S. Soccer "C" License and NSCAA Premier Diploma and is an active member of the United Soccer Coaches Association, where he is a member of the Black Soccer Coaches Advocacy Group.
